Recommendations[]

These are the items that I believe warrant even a look. It will depend on the individual character whether one should actually pick them up.

  • Snugglefest: Bow of Hearts, Card of Hearts, Cherub, Snuggle Hearts, Cherub Protection, Deck of Hearts
    • Bow of Hearts: It's a decent enough bow. Cha is one of the rarest stats on monsters, so this is almost a passive +7.5% damage boost. Unfortunately Fire Bows provide quite a lot of competition, so you have better options a lot of the time. Still, it's better than your standard Fire bow.
    • Card of Hearts: This is the strongest Fire wand for pure damage for the same reason as above, except wands are far rarer than bows. Fire is probably the element that has the most competition for wands, but this is still good.
    • Cherub: This is one of the strongest FD armors in the game. It has fantastic dodge capabilities with its Blind and Berserk skills, making it potentially the best in the game for dodging if you can inflict the status effects. Since the rolls have a penalty for the monster and are against Cha, they're very favorable. The Berserk status being tied to Burn means it's also affected by Burn Potency from Snuggleheart and Sunburst Amulet. Boss Boost's update to affect Blind does mean Cherub's more dangerous to use, but its roll is so naturally favorable that it can still pretty easily inflict its Blind and Berserk. Its EleVuln provides great support for your damaging guests/pets.
    • Snuggle Hearts: It's a Burn Potency shield, giving it fantastic synergy with all Burn effects. Neko players will particularly enjoy using it with their Burn pets/guests. Since Prismatic Burn has been changed to be classified as a Burn, this shield has gotten even better.
    • Cherub Protection: This healing spell provides a much stronger EleShield than it should given how much it pays for it. It's overpowered. However, being a Healing spell, this still renders it niche except for those who need Healing in their character.
    • Tough Love weapons: These weapons are one of very few sources of Thermal Shock in the game, making them noteworthy on that merit alone. Their low proc chance means they're not great weapons regardless.
    • Deck of Hearts: This is a Cha SPell with nothing else going for it, but there are no other options for its niche.
    • Sweetheart Spear/Shield: These two items work really well together, which is why I'm putting them together. On its own, the spear provides the strongest damage boost on a weapon in the game, but the doubling of that damage boost from the FSB is what really makes it amazing. The shield provides blocking, so it helps you achieve the full damage boost, and the normal downside of FSBs is mitigated if you just dodge all the damage you'd take.
  • Love Potion 729: Rose-in-Full-Bloom, Carnation-in-Full-Bloom, Lavender-in-Full-Bloom, Love Potion #736
    • Rose-in-Full-Bloom: This pet has the same Berserk/Burn effect as Cherub, so the same ideas mentioned there apply here. Burns also provide synergy with Neko armors.
    • Carnation-in-Full-Bloom: This pet has a high chance to inflict Control, making it good for stun purposes. Freedom does make stuns unpopular now by completely nullifying them, but if you're seeking this functionality, this pet is good.
    • Lavender-in-Full-Bloom: This pet inflicts a decent Blind. Dodge players are more likely to use Bun-Banneret instead for the guaranteed and equally strong MRM boost, but this has the benefit of dealing damage.
    • Love Potion #736: This provides quickcast stuns, making it highly useful when that is usable. The lack of any limit beyond your SP makes this my personal recommendation for this effect in a misc. It, of course, can be heavily abused with Purple Rain. Freedom does make this misc useless, though, so it depends on the player whether he or she is willing to use a slot for this effect given the proliferation of monsters with Freedom. Nevertheless, this misc can completely shut down fights that do not involve monsters with Freedom. Love Potion is also one of the best available ways to stun a monster with mechanics that require it like Kore or Bun-Banneret. I highly recommend picking this up if possible and at least keeping it in one's storage.
  • Hans in Love: Nothing
  • Amoria Appears!: Nothing
  • Love Bug!: Nothing
  • Blackheart: Nothing
  • Match Maker: Box of Chocolates
    • Box of Chocolates: This non-MC'd shield has a Darkness skill. That is its main differentiating factor. Its lack of MC means it takes an MRM penalty for it, and most people do not like using shield skills. The reduced MRM also means its cap of -25% Darkness resist is almost objectively worse than -26% Darkness shields. Still, there are few options for such shields and even fewer that have pure damage skills.
  • What does Igneox Say?: Nothing
  • Tweenie Nightmare: Nothing
  • Date Night: Necromantic WAHHHHH
    • Necromantic WAHHHHH: This is yet another Cha SPell. There is no competition for what it does even if what it does is not particularly desirable.
  • Troofles & Troubles: Troofle, Troofle Fur
    • Troofle: This is pretty much just a variant of your standard +5% damage Energy pet. The randomness involved with its Celerity effect means it could be desirable compared to other Energy pets, but technically, this is outclassed by the other MC'd Energy pets available because of the lack of a status mode.
    • Troofle Fur: The Celerity and pet/guest damage boost make this decent for Beastmasters. It does compete with Shock Collar, which has both a multiplicative boost to pet damage and provides flat subtractive resistance, making Shock Collar far more potent defensively at max level with proper Energy equipment and potentially stronger offensively as well with additive boosts for your pet.
  • Season of Shipping: Foam Finger
    • Foam Finger: This is the absolute best pet/guest boosting weapon in the game. All three modes are powerful, and it currently lacks outleveling modifiers, so its level 5 version is completely overpowered for its SP cost. The fact that it's a 20-Proc Melee weapon hurts it for most defensive players, but this can be ignored if you can skip your turn in some way.
  • Obsession: Khandie's Gown
    • Khandie's Gown: This is here because it provides very good Fire/Darkness compression. It's mediocre otherwise. Fire/Darkness compression has its uses, most notably against War-Torn Dragon. Khandie's Gown has better Darkness resist and equal Fire resists compared to Wicked King Plate, though the latter's FD lean means the latter will still take less overall damage.
  • Last Resort: Sunburst Amulet
    • Sunburst Amulet: This is arguably the best Burn misc in the game for defensive builds. It has fantastic stats and provides Burn Potence. The skill is almost guaranteed and provides a very strong Burn.
  • Express Shipping: Fan Cameo
    • Fan Cameo: This guest provides both Harm boosting and Harm Backlash, so it is especially good for Backlashers who use Siphon to heal themselves. The Backlash is not affected by the boosting, so this does not perform better than Essence of Carnage for this use case. It is, however, cheaper to sustain and does not use half of its cost on boosting Melee/Ranged attacks, which is worthless for Mages who make up the bulk of Backlashers.
  • Love or Thunder?: Thunder Bride/Thunder Groom
    • Thunder Bride/Thunder Groom: This armor is the only Energy spellcaster lean armor. There are no other options for spellcasters for that element. It also happens to be one of the best of the short list of spellcaster lean armors thanks to its skill. Compressed spells in spellcaster lean armors do a significant amount of damage.
