No-Drop

Staff of Awe

As a guardian, you can replace your Guardian Staff no-drop with the Staff of Awe. This requires you to collect the 5 pieces of the Blade of Awe (guide found here). By default, the Blade of Awe is a 10% proc Earth Melee weapon with a range of different specials, but the weapon element can be changed at the Guardian Tower by speaking to Nimrod, and damage type and weapon special can be changed by Valencia through the Awe Item Exchange and Align Weapon Special menus by visiting Valencia privately.

You'll most likely switch your Blade of Awe to the Staff of Awe for Magic damage, but the element alignment you choose will depend on any gaps you have in your active inventory, and/or personal preference. For mages, changing the element to Wind is recommended due to the lack of non-rare options in those elements, but keep in mind that aligning the Staff of Awe to an element will also align your no-drop armour and shield the same way.

More recently, the Awe weapon specials were updated, most importantly the ability to align the weapon special so that only that a specific special happens. If no alignment choice is made, the weapons trigger in a weighted random fashion as normal. Below are brief descriptions of each of the specials and what happens if they are aligned.

Standard Specials -

  • Spiral Carve: Standard Special. If aligned, deals +25% damage.
  • Awe Blast: Auto-Hits and deals *0.85 damage to compensate. If aligned, deals +25% damage.
  • Health Vampire: When below 75% HP, does *0.5 damage and heals for damage dealt divided by the monster's awe-element resist. If aligned, heals for 150% of damage dealt divided by the monster's awe-element resist. When above 75% HP, does regular Spiral Carve instead.
  • Mana Vampire: Deals *1/6 damage, and heals 653 MP (at lvl 150). If aligned, heals 914.2 MP (at lvl 150). When above 75% MP, does regular Spiral Carve instead.
  • Soul Vampire: Deals *1/6 damage, and heals 490 SP (at lvl 150). If aligned, heals 686 SP (at lvl 150). When above 75% SP, does regular Spiral Carve instead.

Non-Standard Specials -

  • Guardian Dragon: Against standard monsters of your level, this will deal 17% of their HP as Harm damage. Additionally, this special has a small chance to instead summon Guardian Dragon Jr. who deals the same percentage to the monster's base element, if this resist is 50% or below the Guardian Dragon is summoned as well. If aligned, changes your special proc chance to 12% but is otherwise the same.
  • Power Word Die: Summons The Reaper who instantly kill 95% of monsters in the game. If aligned, changes your special proc chance to 3% but is otherwise the same.

Additionally, you can upgrade the Staff of Awe to the Staff of Awe!!!. The upgrade is bought from the Golden Giftbox Shop of Awesome!!! accessed through Golden Giftboxes, and increases the power level of the weapon your current level, rather than (your level - 5). The damage increase is extremely small, so don't stress saving up Z-Tokens to open Golden Giftboxes just for this.

Special

Custom Weapon

Guardians get access to the custom weapon from the Guardian Tower. If you're currently missing the Bloodzerker's Terra Sword, and cannot wait for April Fools Day to get NightSever, Earth is probably the best choice of element.

The weapon has multiple choices for:

- Hilt - This determines the element. Choose Rock if you wish it to be Earth.

- Handle - Accuracy lean. Choose Puissant if you have 250 DEX, Normal if you have 200 DEX, and Perfect if you have anything below that.

- Gem - You want Flashing for the no-proc bonus.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Blazing Bloodzerker's Sword

Weapon with Magic/Melee compression. Gets the *1.08 multiplicative boost for being no-proc. Deals +20% additive Magic damage at the cost of 52 HP and a further +5% from it's MC. The boost is increased by +5% when used with any Bloodzerker Armor, and an addtional +5% when used with Blazing Bloodzerker.

As an extra bonus, the weapon boosts Fire Spells/Spell-Tagged Skills (i.e. Skills on current standards) of the weapon's damage type by +10% additive. This boost is increased by +2.5% when used with any Bloodzerker armor, and an additional +2.5% when used with Blazing Bloodzerker.

In ideal conditions this weapon boosts Fire Magic Normal Attack damage additively by +35% and Fire Spell/Spell-Tagged Skill damage additively by +15%.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> Rare Shop

Location: Void Challenges --> Caecus See Here

Unstoppable Grakma Stinger

The best F2P option overall for most builds. It's 0% proc, and if it misses, then at the end of your turn the weapon performs an additional attack whose power depends on the number of previous hits that missed.

Location: Mt. Thrall -> Hollow's Garage -> I'm here to kick some demon tail!

Arcane Cutlass of Tides

Water clone of the Arcane Cutlass mentioned in the Fire section above.

Location: Valencia --> Golden Giftboxes --> Rare Shop

Blade of the Briar

Recommended for the same reason as Morningstar Cross in the Light section below, even though this item has a penalty for being able to make the monster Bleed. For those who don't want to use the Bloodzerker combo, one of the other Water options below are recommended.

Location: Void Takeover: Keyote the Heartcrusher. See here.

Info-Subs: Link

Masamune

Melee/Magic 0-proc Sword, gets the *1.08 0-proc multiplier. Has a 0.5 base/random damage range lean.

MC: This goes to to skill compression. Clicking on the sword activates a +15 BtH and +40% Lucky Strike rate. This toggle is paid for in SP, Melee pays 226 SP, and Magic pays 208.75 SP per turn for this effect. While this effect is incredibly power, it does take proper planning to use effectively due to the extreme SP cost.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Kindred Spirits' Prestige

A 20% proc weapon that can switch between a +5 BTH lean and a -5 BTH lean by clicking the handle. It also offers a great utility feature: by clicking the blade, you can spend Tranquility Charges to make all your attacks hit for the duration of the turn. By also using the pet alongside the weapon, it is possible to activate the auto-hit function every single turn.

Location: Travel Map -> Kindred Set

Prismatic Paintbrush

MC magic mace. Click to swap between "white paint" mode (water) and "rainbow paint" mode (random elements). In "rainbow paint" mode, all normal player attacks and weapon specials deal *1.21 damage. In water mode it can inflict The Cold, reducing the monster's BTH and defences.

Location: Robina's Shop -> Truphma Saga -> When Powers Collide

Info subs: Link

Tsunami Pen

While technically stronger than the Arcane Cutlass of Tides mentioned above, Tsunami Pen comes at the cost of being an underleveled item and being a magic 100-proc making it hard to use as a standard weapon for mages. Normal attack is a 100-proc 2-hit special. Gives a *1.18 multiplicative boost to Water spells.

Location: Deren Castle -> Up x3 -> Library -> Visit Nel!

Wind

Arcane Cutlass of Gales

Wind clone of the Arcane Cutlass mentioned in the Fire section above.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Info-Subs: Link

Luminous Whiff

Being only marginally better than other competing options, and still costing an UltraRare box, this item is generally not recommended unless you have extra boxes. It's a no-proc staff that increases Wind spell damage by +9.375% making it the top option for spellcaster Mages.

Location: Valencia --> Golden Giftboxes --> UltraRare Shop

Info-Subs: Link

Mystic Long Talon

This weapon was only available from the Frostval 2016 Giftboxes, so it's permanently rare now. It's 0% proc, and you can boost its damage by a maximum of 20% through the use of Murderkillosity, which is gained by killing monsters while wearing pieces of the Windter Warrior set.

Location: None

Info subs: Link

Divine Kazemai Athame

Another decent option, and unlike Mystic Long Talon it's a non-rare quest item. It has a +3 BTH lean and no special, thus making it deal 5.2% more damage than a 20% proc magic weapon. In addition, all wind spells gain 7.5 BTH with the weapon equipped.

Location: Warlic's Shop -> Mastercraft Sets -> Fujin Set

Ice

Arctic Athame

Arctic Athame is phenomenal, and pairs inordinately well with Cryomancer Bloodmage. Weapon attacks deal -10% damage. However, your ice spells deal +18.75% damage, plus an additionaI +18.75% when facing a mob with INT, resulting in a maximum of +37.5% spell damage.

Location: Chessmaster Saga -> Going Kukoo

Cryomancer's Bloodblade

Ice clone of Blazing Bloodzerker's Sword, see its entry in Fire for more details. Additional effects mentioning Bloodzerker Armors apply for Bloodmage Armors instead.

Earth

Terra Bloodzerker's Sword

Earth clone of Blazing Bloodzerker's Sword, see its entry in Fire for more details.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> Rare Shop

NightSever

Currently the best F2P earth weapon. It has no special, so it deals *1.08 damage. It triggers on the following categories: Flying, Undead, Were, Plant, Robot, Dragon, Dragonkin, Insect, Scaley, Fish, Zard and Cute. If the monster happens to belong to any of those categories, then it deals +2% damage, and against a monster belonging to multiple categories, this effect will stack. In addition, if the monster belongs to 3 or more categories, the weapon will seek among the 8 standard elements.

Location: April Fools -> 2013

Info subs: Link

Mother's Day Bouquet

Available only around Mother's Day each year, this weapon has a +3 BTH lean, and a special which occurs 20% of the time and can paralyze the monster. While it's great for those who prefer effects over raw power, the above options are better overall.

Location: Limited Time Shop

Energy

Voltaic Bloodzerker's Sword / Dynamancer's Bloodblade

Limit Buster

Energy Melee/Magic that has a 0.1 base lean and no special (gets *1.08 modifier to compensate). Comes with a charge system. The player gains 1 charge for every 1% 0-END Max HP lost (2958*0.01 = 29.58 HP), these charges stack to 200. After reaching at least 100 charges the weapon can be clicked to execute an attack with a special animation that does +[Charges]% damage, because the maximum number of charges is 200 this has a maximum of +200% damage. Because this attack isn't a skill it applies armor lean, the *1.08 0-proc bonus, and the /1.1 from the balance engine. Even though the +200% is additive, is nothing to joke about, and in fact, barring eat fear/cold, Limit Buster has the strongest "weapon-skill" in the game. However, it does have one downside, getting 200 charges requires losing 5916 HP, though even this can be accomplished by not using a shield or getting hit by a few attack when in the wrong armor.

Location: Valencia --> Golden Giftboxes --> UltraRare Shop

Thunder Lord's Staff

Magic no-procs staff that toggles between two modes: One pays some HP to inflict Burn on the opponent, while the other has a damage penalty in exchange for never missing.

Location: Frostval -> Decorate The Tree

Info-Subs: Link

Star Sabre of Balance

Though it's rare, if you already have this weapon then there is no better option. It's 0% proc so it gets +9% damage, and its MC heals 5.625% of the damage you deal back as SP.

Location: None

Info subs: Link

Star Screamer

This is the best option for those who don't want to spend money on tokens for Golden Giftboxes, or who don't already own the above options. It's a 0% proc weapon that can freely switch between melee, magic and ranged when clicked.

Location: Today's Event -> WarpForce Crossover -> WarpWars

Light

Arcane Cutlass of Gales

Light clone of the Arcane Cutlass mentioned in the Fire section above.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Info-Subs: Link

Zealot's Wrath

The best Light weapon in the game, and arguably one of the best weapons ever released for any element.

Light weapon with Melee/Ranged/Magic modes. Ranged mode has a +5 BTH lean. Has the *1.08 multiplicative no-proc bonus.

Flavor Effect: You deal +15% additive damage and take +(MagMod*15/1.4)% additive damage, where MagMod is 1 for Melee/Ranged and 0.75 for Magic, i.e. +10.714% damage taken in Melee/Ranged mode and +8.035% damage taken in Magic Mode.

MC: Each form of the weapon has a different Lucky Strike boosting MC.

  • Melee: Lucky Strikes deal *1.5 damage
  • Ranged: Lucky Strikes occur *1.5 as often
  • Magic: Lucky Strikes deal ~*1.2247 damage and occur ~*1.2247 as often

Morningstar Cross of The Occult

This item is noted just for its synergy with Bloodzerker Armor skill. It's a 100-proc with a built-in skill that does double damage, but ignores armor lean, making it, in combination with Bloodzerker Armor's skill one of the strongest Fire/Water/Earth/Energy nukes in the game.

Location: Travel Map -> Morningstar Set

Info-Subs: Link

Lumenomancer's Bloodblade

Light clone of Blazing Bloodzerker's Sword, see its entry in Fire for more details. Additional effects mentioning Bloodzerker Armors apply for Bloodmage Armors instead.

Location: Valencia --> Golden Giftboxes --> Rare Shop

(Elite) Alchemical Unity

This Ranged/Magic 0-proc Light weapon that starts off with a -5 BtH lean. As its MC it can be toggled between dealing +7.5% damage to blinded enemies and dealing -25% damage to attempt to inflict a potent damage scaling blind effect to the enemy. While this weapon doesn't have raw power, its blind effect can very easily significantly lower a monster's accuracy.

Location: Blarney -> 2020 Event

Info subs: Link

Greater Bright Blade of Victory

This is one of the best options for raw damage. It has no special, and its MC gives it a 5% damage bonus.

Location: Warlic's Shop -> Quests -> Blades of Victory

Info subs: Link

Kingdom Breaker

Kingdom Breaker works the same as GBBV, except it has a smaller, more consistent damage range of 20-28, rather than 12-36. It's only available to those who bought Guardianship/Z-Tokens before 2013.

Location: Valencia -> Visit Grumbugly -> Kingdom Breaker Shop

Info subs: Link

Darkness

Agony's Embrace

The strongest Darkness weapon in the game, hands down.

Darkness Sword/Glaive with Melee/Ranged/Magic modes. Has the *1.08 multiplicative no-proc bonus.

Flavor Effect: You deal +15% additive damage and take +10.714% damage in Melee/Ranged mode, or +8.035% damage in Magic Mode.

MC: Increases damage dealt based on missing HP by +(1-(CurrentHP/MaxHP))*10%. Below are some example HP brackets:

  • 25% Missing HP: +2.5%
  • 50% Missing HP: +5.0%
  • 75% Missing HP: +7.5%
  • 99% Missing HP: +9.9%

Items like Essence Orb can help players better use Agony's MC as most nuking metas revolve around the player not taking damage from enemies, which can nullify MC's value. Also note that there are stronger items to spend an UltraRare giftbox on, so you should only prioritize this after you've acquired the Poelala pet/guest and Bloodmage/Bloodzerker armours you want.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Info subs: Link

Terror Eater

This weapon is a must-have if you're getting the terror set, as the synergy the armor, weapon and shield have is immaculate. Rather than the armor skill, your biggest source of damage comes from the weapon itself. You can click the handle to Eat Fear, which removes your opponent's Fear status to unleash a massively powerful attack, and by stacking the status through the armor skill, Eat Fear can do some absolutely mind-numbing damage, even reaching the damage cap on both hits. Though being a Vampire is more ideal for mages, if you're a Werewolf then your subrace armors can suitably replace Terror Raiment thanks to the Snarl ability.

Location: Terror Set

Info subs: Link

ShadowWalker's Staff of Time

If you use the ShadowWalker of Time armor and shield, you may want to consider using the weapon too. The staff is a 0% proc weapon with a damage range of 18-30, and at the end of every turn, you have an 6.4% chance of gaining Celerity, allowing you to attack twice. When used with the armor and shield, this chance is doubled.

Location: Buy Heromart Calendar 2017 "Year of Adventure" -> Redeem code in Master Account

Caladbolg

No-proc darkness sword with has a chance to make the monster bleed on each turn. If the monster is already bleeding then it deals +5% damage.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Greater Dark Blade of Victory

A dark element reskin of the Greater Bright Blade of Victory, and the best non-rare option for adventurers.

Location: Warlic's Shop -> Quests -> Blades of Victory

Info subs: Link

Drakath Fiend Blade

Yet another incredible dark weapon. It's a completely unremarkable 0% proc dark sword, but clicking the handle gives you the temporary Drakath Fiend Form. This armor has a skill that elelocks your attacks to dark with a 1.71145 elecomp value.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Harm

Void Spear of War

If you need harm damage you might want to consider this weapon. Ranged/Magic Toggle, 0 proc weapon with a MC that compensates for the damage penalty for being harm. Also gains the standard 0 proc damage boost.

Location Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> Rare Shop

Info subs: Link

Voidsplinter Tether/Voidsplinter Sunderer

The voidsplinters are a great utility option for mages. The tether is a 20% proc staff, while the sunderer is a 20% proc sword. This factor is irrelevant aside from usage with weapon master emblems; besides that and the artwork, the items are identical. Click for a Harm damage toggle at the cost of 55 SP every turn. Due to the SP cost it is slightly stronger than Void Spear of War as it does not get the *0.9 penalty, but the difference is negligible and therefore should only be bought in case you have nothing to do with your UltraRare boxes.

Location: Valencia -> Golden Giftboxes -> UltraRare Shop

Info subs (Tether): Link

Info subs (Sunderer): Link

Lorekeeper's Oath

Can toggle between Melee/Magic as well as Fire/Harm damage. Has no special and +0 Bth lean. Like Voidsplinter Tether/Sunderer, it can toggle to do Harm damage at the cost of a small amount of SP per turn. This item returns around mid-April, to celebrate the birthday of AQs writer, Cray.

Rainbow Raygun

This weapon attempts to switch the monster's elements randomly each turn.
